First you need to convert your footage to an edit friendly codec like DNxHD or Apple ProRes. GoPro records in HEVC codec which is compressed and not suitable for editing. Anyone have any ideas why this could be doing this? Thanks guys.’ I also have version 1.8 firmware which should be the latest frameware. I have tried changing the video compression through my GoPro to HEVC instead oh H.264 + HEVC and that still doesn’t make a difference. I can play them just fine through Windows Media Player.

‘When recording with my GoPro 7, I have recorded in 1440 and 4k and every time I import the videos into Hitfilm, they only come up as audio files. Hitfilm Express GoPro 7 Black Video is Only Audio It displays a workaround to solve the problem. If you came upon audio only issues while loading GoPro 7 HEVC files into Hitfilm Express, you may wish to read this post. This entry was posted in H.265/HEVC Converter on by Richard
